PMA brings these techniques within the reach of other investors by using no-load mutual funds to control risk and to take advantage of different managers' approaches to successful investment. We begin with a rigorous process for analyzing mutual funds to find those among the 12,000-plus funds based in the U.S. that meet our stringent standards. Only 60-65 funds survive this process. For each portfolio, we then bring equal discipline to selecting funds from that group to give us the mix of approaches and investments that will achieve our client's goals.
